HOW DO I REQUEST A NURSERY PLACE?
Parents are asked to complete an application form, available from the school office. Names are recorded on a waiting list. Offers of places are usually sent out early in the preceding spring term, with an invitation to attend a meeting when further arrangements are explained.
If the number of applications exceeds the places available, the criteria for admission are the same as that for pupils of statuary school age:
- Looked after children.
- Children living in the catchment area.
- If places remain, priority is given to children with brothers and sisters who currently attend South Wellfield First School.
- Any remaining places are allocated to children living nearest the school.
- Children with Special Educational Needs.
ADMISSION TO FIRST SCHOOL
There is no automatic transfer from a Nursery Class attached to a school to a Reception Class in the same school. Applications for a place in a Maintained school are made separately and subject to the Admissions Policy.
